Pelling:- Pelling is a lovely town nestled away in the Himalayas. It is a part of the district of North Sikkim, India. It is blessed with abundant natural beauty. The landscape is dotted with exotic waterfalls and lakes. The Changey, Rimbi and Khangchendzonga waterfalls, and the Khecheopalri Lake add to Pelling’s natural beauty, enticing nature lovers and trekkers alike. An interesting place to visit is the Pemayangtse Monastery that was constructed in 1705. Located close to the monastery is the Rabdantse Ruins, once the capital of Sikkim, it was razed to the ground by the Gurkhas who invaded the area. Another popular monastery in Pelling is the Sangachoeling Monastery, which was constructed in 1697. Also worth visiting is the Sewaro Rock Garden, which has now become a popular picnic spot. The town attempts to give urban dwelling tourists, a chance to experience the humble rural way of living by inviting them to partake in specific activities like milking a cow. Fishing is allowed at the Rimbi Falls so tourists who like fishing can try their hand at it. The Yuma meditation centre is a great place to not only learn the benefits of meditation but also to gain insight into the vibrant Hindu mythology.

Gangtok:-Such tour packages are offered to cover some of the prime destinations in and around Darjeeling and Gangtok. In Gangtok, you will visit the main attractions along with Tsomgo Lake at an altitude of 12400 ft, 32kms from Gangtok City. The lake is about 1 Km long, oval in shape and 15 meter deep. Darjeeling:-Lying amidst the slopes of the Lesser Himalayas and blanketed by emerald green plantations of tea, Darjeeling is a picturesque town in the Indian state of West Bengal. The majestic Kangchenjunga towers over this beautiful town, which is the third highest mountain in the world. Popularly known as the ‘Queen of the Hills’, Darjeeling provided stunning locations for many Bollywood movies including Barfi, Main Hoon Na and Aradhana. Developed by the British, the colonial era architecture can still be seen everywhere in Darjeeling. Tiger Hill offers a spectacular view of both Mount Everest and Mount Kangchenjunga. Lloyd’s Botanical Garden has a collection of several species of flora including oak, magnolia and bamboo. Go on an adventurous trek up to Sandakphu in Singalila Range, the highest peak in West Bengal and feast your eyes on the spellbinding panorama.

Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • Day 01: –Arrival in Bagdogra – Gangtok (120 km/4 hours)
    On arrival at the Bagdogra airport (IXB), you will transfer to Gangtok. Visit the Mall Road in Gangtok. Overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.
  • Day 02: –Gangtok – Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir – Gangtok
    After breakfast, set out for the day excursion to the Tsomgo Lake (40 km from Gangtok). This lake is home to the Brahmini ducks. En route, stop at Kyongnosla. Then, travel to Baba Mandir (at an altitude of around 13,500 feet). Return to Gangtok and retire for the night at the hotel.
  • Day 03: –Gangtok Sightseeing and transfer to Pelling (120 km/4 hours)
    After a filling breakfast, start the half day city tour, which covers the Bakthang Falls, Enchey Monastery, Do DrulChorten and the Institute of Tibetology, which has the largest collection of Tibetan manuscripts and books on Buddhist philosophy. In the afternoon, transfer from Gangtok to Pelling. Overnight stay at the hotel in Pelling.
  • Day 04: –Pelling – Darjeeling (80 km/3 hours)
    Have a wholesome breakfast and proceed for the full-day sightseeing tour. This includes the Rimbi Falls, the Kanchenjunga Falls and the Khecheopalri Lake. Later in the afternoon, transfer to Darjeeling and reach by evening. Overnight stay at the hotel in Darjeeling.
  • Day 05: –Darjeeling Sightseeing
    Set out for an early morning tour to the Tiger Hills (at around 4 am) to view the sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak (depends on clear weather). On the way back, visit the Ghoom Monastery and the Batasia Loop. In the afternoon, go for a half-day sightseeing tour of the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), Tenzing and Gombu Rock, the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (closed on Sunday) and a tea estate. Have a pleasant overnight stay at the hotel in Darjeeling.
  • Day 06: –Darjeeling – Bagdogra – DepartureAfter breakfast, transfer to the airport/railway station to catch your flight/train for the return journey.
