Gangtok:- Such tour packages are offered to cover some of the prime destinations in and around Darjeeling and Gangtok. In Gangtok, you will visit the main attractions along with Tsomgo Lake at an altitude of 12400 ft, 32kms from Gangtok City. The lake is about 1 Km long, oval in shape and 15 meter deep. Darjeeling:- Lying amidst the slopes of the Lesser Himalayas and blanketed by emerald green plantations of tea, Darjeeling is a picturesque town in the Indian state of West Bengal. The majestic Kangchenjunga towers over this beautiful town, which is the third highest mountain in the world. Popularly known as the ‘Queen of the Hills’, Darjeeling provided stunning locations for many Bollywood movies including Barfi, Main Hoon Na and Aradhana. Developed by the British, the colonial era architecture can still be seen everywhere in Darjeeling. Tiger Hill offers a spectacular view of both Mount Everest and Mount Kangchenjunga. Lloyd’s Botanical Garden has a collection of several species of flora including oak, magnolia and bamboo. Go on an adventurous trek up to Sandakphu in Singalila Range, the highest peak in West Bengal and feast your eyes on the spellbinding panorama.

Pelling:- Pelling is a lovely town nestled away in the Himalayas. It is a part of the district of North Sikkim, India. It is blessed with abundant natural beauty. The landscape is dotted with exotic waterfalls and lakes. The Changey, Rimbi and Khangchendzonga waterfalls, and the Khecheopalri Lake add to Pelling’s natural beauty, enticing nature lovers and trekkers alike. An interesting place to visit is the Pemayangtse Monastery that was constructed in 1705. Located close to the monastery is the Rabdantse Ruins, once the capital of Sikkim, it was razed to the ground by the Gurkhas who invaded the area. Another popular monastery in Pelling is the Sangachoeling Monastery, which was constructed in 1697. Also worth visiting is the Sewaro Rock Garden, which has now become a popular picnic spot. The town attempts to give urban dwelling tourists, a chance to experience the humble rural way of living by inviting them to partake in specific activities like milking a cow. Fishing is allowed at the Rimbi Falls so tourists who like fishing can try their hand at it. The Yuma meditation centre is a great place to not only learn the benefits of meditation but also to gain insight into the vibrant Hindu mythology.

Lachung:- Lachung is a picturesque town in North Sikkim. Situated close to the Indo–China border, tourists have to get permission from the government before visiting this breathtakingly beautiful hill station. At the top of your list of places to visit should be the Lachung Monastery, which was built in 1850. It is surrounded by apple orchards, and coincidentally, Lachung is famous for its apples as well as peaches and apricots. The handicraft centre has an interesting selection of exquisitely woven rugs and blankets for those who wish to shop. The Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary, with the Yumthang Chu flowing through, is a place of beauty and is a good place to visit for a leisurely and scenic stroll. Visitors to Lachung often plan to stay for a night before continuing on to the Yumthang valley, which is a grazing paradise for yaks. All the same, visiting the beautiful Lachung is highly recommended for those looking for peace and relaxation, while surrounded by forests and mountains.

Lachen:- Located at an altitude of 9,000 feet on the mountain slope, overlooking the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, Lachen is one of the most picturesque spots in North Sikkim. Lachen is a small hamlet surrounded by green mountains on all sides and heavily blessed by Mother Nature in the form of scenic beauty. The road to Lachen is rugged and the journey is hectic, but when you finally reach the hamlet, you forget everything and feel like sitting on the lap of Mother Nature. The altitude of Lachen makes it a freezing zone and if you visit the place in winter, Lachen would greet you with snow. The roads, the trees, the slanted roofs of the houses get covered with snow turning the small village into a romantic world. Apart from mesmerizing you with its picturesque surrounding, dominated by snow-capped mountain peaks, Lachen will show you the gate through which you will enter and start your journey towards a divine destination-the Gurudongmar Lake.

Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • Day 01: –Bagdogra / New Jalpaiguri – Gangtok
    Welcome on arrival at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and transfer to Gangtok (114kms/4.5hrs). At an altitude of 5500ft Gangtok is the capital of the state of Sikkim, a beautiful and clean town promising of the best monasteries and landscapes. Evening free for individual activity and leisure, overnight at hotel.
  • Day 02: –Gangtok sightseeing
    After breakfast cover Gangtok sightseeing- Tsomgolake and Baba Mandir, Roomtek Monastery, Institute of Tibetology, Banjhakri Falls, Energy Park and Ranka Monastery. Evening free to visit Mall, M.G Marg by own. Overnight stay at hotel.
  • Day 03: –Gangtok to Lachung
    After breakfast pickup from your hotel at Gangtok and Transfer to Lachung (117Kms/6.5Hrs), en-route sightseeing at Singhik View point, Chumthang Valley, Twin Falls and Vima Falls. Evening free to explore the beautiful Himalayan village by your own. Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 04: –Day Trip to Yumthang Valley and transfer to Lachen
    After breakfast start for half day excursion trip to Yumthang Valley, en-route visit Hot Spring and Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary. Some photographs of the natural scenes of Switzerland and Yumthang valley are very hard to distinguish. Yumthang, which is at an altitude of 12,000 ft., is situated about 135 km from Gangtok. April and May promises colorful flowers & Orchids, whereas November end to March usually sees snows. Transfer back to Lachung for Lunch followed by visit to Lachung Monastery. After sightseeing transfer to lachen, overnight stay at Hotel.
  • Day 05: –Lachen to Gangtok
    After early Morning after breakfast cover Gurudongmar Lake and transfer to Gangtok. Overnight stay at Gangtok hotel.
  • Day 06: –Gangtok – Pelling
    Enjoy a lip-smacking breakfast, and then proceed to Pelling. On the way cover Ravangla (Budha Park &Ravangla sightseeing) as soon as you arrive Pelling, check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Pelling Distance from Gangtok to Pelling: 117 km. Travel time – approx. 5 hours.
  • Day 07: –Pelling local sightseeing and transfer to Darjeeling
    After breakfast, start your sightseeing tour. Visit the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, Kanchenjunga Falls, Pemayangtse Monastery which is the 2nd oldest monastery of Sikkim along with the Darap Village. Transfer to Darjeeling. Overnight stay at Darjeeling hotel.
  • Day 08: –Excursion to Darjeeling
    After breakfast, go on a day excursion of Darjeeling Town. Enjoy a ride on the famous Toy Train from Darjeeling Town, through the picturesque Batasia Loop and then to the neighboring towns of Ghoom and Kurseong. Take a stroll on the Mall or shop for local crafts and antiques along the way. Visit the famous Das Studios for a peek at their collection of old black and white photographs from the area. Enjoy your lunch at Glenary’s, which has a nice cafeteria as well as a multi-cuisine restaurant. Visit the Zoo, famous for its snow leopards and pandas, the renowned Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the Gymkhana Club.
    Drive back to hotel for overnight stay.
  • Day 09: –Darjeeling Tiger Hill
    Set out for an early morning tour to the Tiger Hills (at around 4 am) to view the sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak (depends on clear weather). Return to hotel for breakfast. In the evening visit Mall Road by own. Overnight stay at the hotel in Darjeeling.
  • Day 10: –Darjeeling to Bagdogra)
    After breakfast, transfer to the airport/railway station to catch your flight/train for the return journey.
